VOID
O Quilombismo

VOID describes a total absence - and thus the potential to become something: a position in which queer subjectivities often find themselves, displaced from history and present.VOID has two forms: a non-binary spiritual deity and an alternative identity with a brown body - and their own representation or the gap in their place. During the performance VOID, Serafin also shows Creation Paradigm (2023), the second episode of the trilogy Cosmological Gangbang (2021–24), which conjures up the mythical origin and future of the fertility deity of the pearls, a creature of indefinite sex born from the uterus of a tropical swamp - the connecting portal between the astral and the mortal world. They live as human being to learn how to take better care of others at all times. In the film, Serafin's collaborators embody deities from different dimensions in a process of communal queer and indigenous healing of the traumas of the colonial project, whose central control instruments include cis heteronormativity. They get in the mood for "nature" to listen to it, adapt to it and work with what it offers them - not least sexual diversity, which they see as an intrinsic part of nature.
